With the recent launch of the 2025 XPeng G6 range, we now line it up against three other strong contenders โ all priced ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ and offered in ๐๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐-๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ form.
Each delivers ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ range, but the G6 ups the ante at ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐๐ โ making them all practical daily drivers capable of interstate journeys with ease.
On tech, the BYD and Tesla run on ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ฌ, while the XPeng and Zeekr benefit from ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ฌ with ultra-fast DC charging of up to 450kW.
The big change with the 2025 XPeng G6 is that the โStandardโ variant has been dropped , it gains a new AWD option, and equips the ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ (๐๐) with a larger LFP battery. The result? Class-leading range that puts clear distance between it and most rivals.
Elsewhere, the Zeekr 7X remains the most powerful, the Tesla remains the most efficient and quickest to 100 km/h, while the refreshed G6 now combines 800V with 5C charging, outstanding range, and the lowest annual road tax similar to the Model Y.
The BYD Sealion 7, meanwhile, despite its shortcomings and steep price continues to be Malaysiaโs favourite thanks to Sime Darbyโs strong sales and aftersales support.
