๐ฅ Did You Know?
Many people believe that 99% Infrared Rejection (IRR) means your car will never feel hot again.
The truth is... thatโs only part of the story.
โ๏ธ Infrared rays are only one portion of the sunโs total heat energy. Even if a window film blocks 99% of infrared, you can still experience heat from other sources, such as:
โ
Visible Light โ Bright sunlight carries energy that contributes to heat and glare.
โ
Heat Absorbed by the Glass โ Your windscreen and windows absorb solar energy and then reradiate that heat into the cabin.
โ
Car Metal Conducts Heat โ Your carโs roof, doors, pillars, and body panels are made of metal. When exposed to direct sunlight, the metal heats up and conducts that heat into the cabin, making the interior feel warmer even if your window film has very high IRR.
โ
Poor Ventilation โ Without proper airflow or air conditioning, heat continues to build up inside the vehicle.
๐ก This is why a window film with 99% IRR doesnโt automatically mean your car will feel cool.
A comfortable cabin depends on multiple factors, not just one specification.
When comparing window films, donโt look at IRR alone. Consider the overall performance:
โ๏ธ High Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER)
โ๏ธ Full-spectrum UV protection
โ๏ธ Effective glare reduction
โ๏ธ Optical clarity
โ๏ธ Real-world heat performance
๐ Specifications are useful, but real-world performance is what matters most.
