SEASON 2010
2010 was the first season for the UNAM team, We took part in “Formula SAE California” in Fontana. On this first year, the UNAM team won the "William C. Rookie Award", and we finished as the best mexican team. The team achieved the #26 position on the competi
tion, with 79 registered universities, managing in addition to be the best Latin-American team. SEASON 2011
For second year in a row we competed in California, this time with a new all-redesigned car that was improved in every way possible. Unfortunately the car had a breakdown durin the endurance event which led us ti end up in 42nd place, sitll managing, though to be the best mexican team. FORMULA SAE
Formula SAE is an international challenge organized by SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers) where teams of university students design, build and race a formula-style car in 8 venues around the world (2 in USA, 3 in Europe, 1 in Brasil, Japan and Australia). Formula SAE competition evaluates breaks, steering, suspension, electronics and many other systems. There are not only mechanic restrictions on every system, they test business plan, presentation event, cost report,... in the car and the team that add more points will win the competition.
