We are incredibly proud to offer this legendary 1998 Porsche 993 GT2 Roock Racing (Chassis: 98 RST 530 003).
This is the last air-cooled 911 with a major international victory, the only car to beat the mighty factory Vipers and Corvettes in endurance racing between 1998 and 2002.
Built on a bare 993 GT2 EVO shell, this ultimate GT2 was sold new to David Warnock. Its crowning glory came at the legendary 1999 Daytona 24 Hours. Driven by Arhle, Haupt, Sanguiolo, and Warnock, this privateer European underdog outlasted the heavyweights, crossing the finish line 1st in the GT2 class and an astonishing 7th Overall.
Developed independently by Roock Racing to stay competitive against factory cars, it features: lighter, ungalvanised body from the factory, a lightened and reinforced Matter tub making Roock GT2s the lightest ever built at just 1060 kg, 600hp 3.8L flat-six engine, widened tracks (+7cm), repositioned radiators, and optimized aero floors.
Owned by collectors since its retirement (and even driven on a track day by the legendary Colin McRae!), this GT2 was sold through us in 2011 to its former Daytona-winning driver, Hubert Haupt. It underwent a massive, no-expense-spared €237,000 restoration by Michael Roock himself between 2012 and 2018. It was even proudly exhibited at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
Today, RST 530 003 sits in race-ready condition. It recently completed a 10-lap shakedown by our maintenance team to ensure it operates flawlessly. Amazingly, it still wears its authentic 1999 Daytona livery, 1999 FIA GT plumbing, and 2000 FIA roll-cage stickers.
