Toyota has announced a breakthrough in battery technology that could lead to electric vehicles (EVs) with a range of up to 900 miles on a single charge.
The technology involves solid-state batteries, which have an anode, cathode, and electrolyte in a single structure, making them more energy-dense and faster to charge than conventional batteries.
However, while the technology shows promise, there are still hurdles to overcome, and other companies, including Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and BMW, are also heavily invested in solid-state battery tech, making it a competitive field. Additionally, potential lithium supply shortages could pose challenges to production.
