🚨 ATTENTION ALL YOUTUBERS & CONTENT CREATORS 🚨
A dangerous new sponsorship scam is targeting channels right now! 🎣 Scammers are trying to hijack channels and steal creator accounts by impersonating trusted brands.
Here is how it works and how to protect yourself 👇
🎯 1. The Smart Trap (AI Personalization)
Scammers no longer send obvious spam with bad grammar. They use AI and scraping tools to look genuine:
• They address you by your real name or channel name.
• They mention your exact niche (cars, tech, gaming, beauty, etc.).
• They quote real titles of your recent videos.
• They offer free products or software licenses and promise to pay your full sponsorship rate for a simple 60-second video integration.
🚩 2. Real Example (What to Watch Out For)
A creator recently received an email claiming to be from Hollyland:
"I really love how you combine your expertise with accessible reviews... Your coverage of [Exact Recent Video Titles] gives viewers genuine insight... We'd love to explore a 60-second integration. We'll provide the device and cover your regular rates."
It sounds 100% genuine, BUT look at the sender email:
❌ Display Name: Hollyland
❌ Actual Email: [email protected]
Hollyland only uses .com. The domain .co is a fake proxy!
This exact same script is being used with other popular creator brands like DJI, Rode, NordVPN, Adobe, and indie game studios.
⚠️ 3. What Happens If You Reply?
Once you say "Yes", they send:
• A "sponsorship agreement" inside a .zip or .rar file 📁
• A Google Drive / Dropbox link with hidden executable files (.exe, .scr) 🔗
• A "software beta" or game client to test 💻
Once you download and run that file, it installs session-stealing malware (infostealers).
It copies your browser's login cookies, BYPASSES 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) instantly, locks you out of your Google account, and converts your channel into a crypto-scam stream within minutes! 😱
🛡️ 4 Golden Rules to Stay Safe:
1️⃣ Always check the domain after the "@":
If someone claims to represent a brand (like Adobe, DJI, Hollyland, etc.), the email must end with their official website domain. If it ends in .com, .co, or random business domains, it is a scam.
2️⃣ Never download .zip, .rar, or .exe files:
Real PR agencies and brands send normal PDF documents or Google Docs for review. They never require you to open compressed or executable files.
3️⃣ Never test "game builds" or "tools" on your main PC:
If you review games or software, run them on a secondary laptop or virtual machine, never on the PC where your main YouTube channel is logged in.
4️⃣ When in doubt, verify:
At least get a screenshot ans ask from an AI to analyze the email for scams
Reach out to the brand’s official PR email listed on their official website to verify if the outreach is authentic.
