The future of mobility is not only learned in the classroom—it is experienced through practical skills and industry exposure. Advanced Mobility Africa was honoured to partner with the Safaricom Foundation through the Safaricom Hook Circle programme to deliver a mentorship and upskilling session at the Kiambu National Polytechnic (KINAP).
The event combined career mentorship with hands-on technical learning, giving students the opportunity to explore both conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs). The Mechanical, Mechatronics & Automotive students took part in practical demonstrations covering vehicle operation, fault diagnosis and the use of modern diagnostic tools and equipment used in today's automotive industry.
By exposing young people to emerging vehicle technologies and industry-standard diagnostic practices, we help prepare them for a rapidly changing mobility landscape where digital skills, technical competence, and adaptability are becoming essential. For TVET institutions, industry partnerships are vital for bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace expectations. They enable students to gain practical experience, understand current technologies and build the confidence needed to succeed in employment or entrepreneurship.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Safaricom Foundation, Kiambu National Polytechnic (KINAP), Kabisa and all the students who participated with enthusiasm and curiosity. Together, we are empowering the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to drive the future of mobility.
