AIR ACCIDENT ALERTS: Week 46 2023 (Cirium.com)

· 15 November 2023 – N103WC - Bell OH-58 A+ - Edgefield Aviation – No reported serious injuries

The helicopter was being used to transport Christmas trees as a sling load near Estacada, Oregon. At one point it would seem that the load flew up and struck the tail rotor. Control was lost and the helicopter crashed. The accident happened at dawn (0745L).

· 15 November 2023 – N867UT – Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX – Not known – No reported serious injuries

The aircraft crashed amongst trees while apparently attempting to land at an airstrip at Estancia Rosaville, some 125km west of Mariscal Estigarribia, Chaco, Paraguay. The accident happened in daylight (about 0930L). The aircraft was operating a flight from Asuncion.

· 14 November 2023 – PR-GXT - Boeing 737-800 – GOL – No injuries

The aircraft blew up a large section of asphalt as it began its take-off roll on Runway 25 at Ministro Victor Konder International Airport, Navegantes, Santa Catarina, Brazil and some of the debris are believed to have struck its right horizontal stabiliser. The take-off was aborted and the aircraft taxied back to its stand. The accident happened in daylight (0600L) and in VMC. The aircraft was operating a flight to Galeao International Airport, Rio de Janeiro.

· 13 November 2023 – N86H – Cessna 310D – High Country Aviation – Pilot injured

The aircraft crashed during an apparent practise touch-and-go at Coeur D'Alene Airport, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The accident happened in daylight (0900L).

· 13 November 2023 – SP-CLE - Tecnam P2006T - PWSZ Aviation Center – No injuries

Following a practise single engine approach to Depultycze Krolewskie Airport, Chelm, Poland the aircraft landed with its undercarriage retracted. The accident happened in daylight (1340L) and in VMC. The aircraft was operating a local training flight.

The aircraft's nose undercarriage collapsed during landing at (Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport?) Denver, Colorado. The accident happened in darkness (1830L).

· 11 November 2023 – N977SM – Cessna 421B - Kmc Aviation Leasing – No injuries

The aircraft's undercarriage reportedly collapsed during the take-off roll at Lake City Gateway Airport, Lake City, Florida. The accident happened in daylight (1445L).

AIR ACCIDENT ALERTS: Week 45 2023 (Cirium.com)

· 10 November 2023 – VH-VPY – Cessna 421C – Not known – No injuries

The aircraft was operating a ferry flight from Sunshine Coast Airport, Queensland, Australia to Pago Pago International Airport, American Samoa but reportedly suffered an engine failure towards the start of the flight. The pilot turned back but advised ATC that he was unable to maintain height and likely would not be able to regain the airport. The aircraft gradually lost height and eventually ditched about 30nm off Mooloolaba. The two crew escaped from the sinking aircraft into a small life raft and were quickly rescued by a helicopter. The accident happened in daylight (0900L) and in VMC.

· 09 November 2023 – XA-OUV – Cessna TU206G - Aerolineas Centauro – No serious injuries

The aircraft reportedly suffered an engine failure while en route from Tayoltita, Durango to Durango, Mexico and the pilot carried out a forced landing at a remote location about 60km east of Tayoltita. The accident happened in daylight (1300L) and in VMC.

· 07 November 2023 – N118PW - Twin Commander 500B - Central Air Southwest – No serious injuries

The aircraft reportedly suffered some 'mechanical problem' towards the end of a flight from Lexington, Kentucky to Jackson, Michigan and the pilot subsequently carried out a forced landing in a field 4km west of Liberty Township, Michigan, about 20km south of Jackson. The accident happened in daylight (1455L) and in VMC.

· 06 November 2023 – N947JB - Airbus A321-231 – JetBlue Airways – No injuries

The aircraft's left engine struck the pushback tug as it began to taxy following pushback at San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, California. The accident happened in daylight (1600L) and in VMC. The aircraft was operating a flight to Boston, Massachusetts.

· 05 November 2023 – N150SF – Airbus SA341G Gazelle – Private – No injuries

The helicopter's main rotor apparently struck a flood light stanchion and it crash landed as it was taking off from the grounds of the Anglia Motel, Fleet Hargate, Lincolnshire. The accident happened in daylight (1345L) and in VMC.

· 04 November 2023 – C-GJJF – Beech King Air A100 – Propair – No serious injuries

On landing at Wemindji, Quebec, Canada, the aircraft touched down 'slightly offset' to the left side of the runway centreline and its left engine hit a snowbank running along the side of the runway. The aircraft veered the left, ran off the side of the runway and came to a stop in the snow approximately 8 meters from the edge of the runway.
