R 64 - USA Kapil 🇺🇸. Growing up I also wanted a Honda civic type r. When it’s finally came out with the fl5 I fell in love. It’s beast and definitely a head turner. The mixture of performance and daily is everything a car enthusiasts want. The boost blue fl5 is definitely one of the brightest colors out there. You’re definitely being seen from a mile away and stands out from other brands. The fl5 is definitely tuner friendly especially with basic bolt ons. Driving this car daily always gives me that thrill that we car enthusiasts seek. R 61 - SWITZERLAND Kevin Polli 🇨🇭Coming from the raw, chaotic energy of the FK2, stepping into the FL5 is a revelation. Don‘t get me wrong—the FK2 was a brilliant machine: Spartan, beautifully unrefined, and incredibly fun if you wanted to attack a track with a bit of a rowdy, ”ignorant“ attitude. But the FL5? The FL5 is a completely different breed. It is a mature, sophisticated driver’s weapon.
What makes the FL5 truly phenomenal is its impossible dual personality. It is a mechanical shapeshifter. You wake up in the morning, drive it to work, and pick up the groceries without it flinching. But the moment the evening rolls around, it transforms. Whether you are hunting apexes on the track or carving up a tight, technical B-road, the stability is mind-blowing. The cornering is surgically precise. And because Honda stayed true to a proper manual gearbox, it feeds pure, unfiltered emotion straight to your hands and feet. There is a reason people call it the ”GT3 RS of hot hatches“ It might not be the absolute fastest car in a straight line, but it is undisputed when it comes to pure driver engagement. It is so flawless out of the factory that any modifications you make aren‘t fixing flaws they are just sharpening a diamond. It’s an all-in-one masterclass in automotive engineering. But beyond the specs, the lap times, and the engineering, this car represents something much deeper to me. The Type R badge has been a constant anchor in my life for years. These cars have seen me at my best and my worst. Inside these cabins, I have laughed, I have cried, and I have found an escape when the world got too loud. It has been my therapy.
To me, this isn’t just metal, rubber, and oil. The FL5 isn‘t just a machine it’s a member of the family. It feels like a brother. The bond it creates and the pure, unadulterated emotion it delivers every single time I grab the shifter is something I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. I will never sell it I‘m taking to the grave with me.
