During our recent visit to Studio6Zero, we had the chance to see original Honda Master Data documents for fabrics used across various Honda models. Materials such as the Swift Yellow used on the DC2 Integra Type R, shown here, were originally developed in Design Studio B. The original Honda seals and approvals, including Futatsugi’s name, are all shown.
We work very closely with Studio6Zero in the development and production of our seat covers. Our relationship is built on mutual respect and real collaboration. We share ideas, support each other on new projects, and help one another out.
Their team is Honda’s contracted upholstery specialist. They handle the upholstery work for vehicles in Honda’s Heritage Hall and the HondaJet, and they are also trusted by Honda enthusiasts worldwide. The studio is led by original Honda designers and engineers involved in iconic models including the NSX, S2000, DC2 Integra Type R, Civic, Beat and many others. The core team includes:
• Ando Kimiaki – Studio6Zero Seat Design, former Honda R&D Seat Designer
• Keiji Futatsugi – Studio6Zero Representative, former Honda Color & Material Chief Designer
• Kenji Iyanagi – Studio6Zero Interior Design, former Honda R&D Interior Designer and NSX Interior Chief Designer
• Masato Nakano – Studio6Zero Executive Producer, former Honda R&D Design Director and NSX/S2000 Chief Designer
In the background of these photos are the actual seat covers offered through our website. Yes, they are premium priced, but they are genuine OEM-grade materials produced to the original Honda specifications. All the fabrics used in our seat covers are true OE-grade, whether it is Red, Blue, or Black, unless otherwise stated.
We hope this provides additional context into the materials, development history, and collaboration behind our seat cover program.
