In Asakusa, they enjoyed fragrant, high-quality matcha, while in Kamakura, we were amazed by the powerful presence of the Great Buddha.
It was a special time to experience Japanese culture with all five senses.

One of the highlights was to visit to Mobility Resort Motegi, where awardees learned about the spirit of Soichiro Honda and his philosophy of continuously taking on challenges.
They were deeply inspired by his way of life.

In the Pit Workshop, they worked in teams to build and run cars together.
Naturally, teamwork emerged, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and laughter.

During the visits to companies, awardees also had time to reflect on their own countries—sharing challenges and discussing how they could contribute to creating change.
At Kamakura Living Lab, they had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the lecturer and even walk through the town together with Hiroko Akiyama.
It became a moment of truly experiencing the field beyond the classroom—something that left a deep impression on everyone.

Our next company visit was to Citizen Energy Chiba, where we visited Japan’s first mega solar power plant using solar sharing.
They learned how farming and solar power can work together, how the project benefits the local community, and also saw a next-generation solar technology in action.

In the afternoon, they worked in teams by country and gave presentations on how similar ideas could be applied in their own countries.
They shared a variety of ideas suited to each region and had lively discussions.

It was a enriching day full of learning, exchange, and inspiration for the future.

Our company visits started at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Tokyo, where awardees explored cutting-edge research on Large Language Models.
They also had a chance to hear from Myanmar researcher. Her journey—from studying in Myanmar to becoming a researcher in Japan—truly resonated with the participants.
The story inspired each awardee to reflect on their own future paths, sparking new ideas and motivation.

For the university visits, we went to UTokyo and Science Tokyo, both highly requested by the awardees.
At UTokyo, they experienced cutting-edge lectures, including AI-driven infrastructure management, while at Science Tokyo, they experienced interactive sessions on frontier chemical engineering for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
They also heard presentations by international students, who shared their real-life experiences of studying and living in Japan.
Questions flowed naturally, helping them gain practical insights and a clearer sense of their future paths.

We began the Study tour with a warm and friendly get-together, joined by past award recipients currently studying in Japan.
It was a gentle and welcoming start, filled with smiles, conversations, and a sense of connection.

For one week starting March 25th, when the cherry blossoms were almost in full bloom, we held a Japan Study Tour for the FY2024 Y-E-S Award recipients.
We will now begin reflecting on those memories...
