Motorists will pay less for gas on Thursday.

The state-owned oil refinery, Petrojam, says E-10 87 is to move down by $3.06 to sell for $149.26 per litre and a litre of E-10 90 will go down by $3.06 to sell for $155.88.

Automotive diesel oil will move down by $3.06 per litre to sell for $161.60 and Ultra low sulphur diesel will sell for $167.61 per litre following a decrease of $3.06.

The price of kerosene will go up by $3.06, with that fuel to sell for $145.53.

In the meantime, propane cooking gas will go down by $1.96 to sell for $75.66, while butane will move up by $1.96 to sell for $82.75 per litre.

Retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.

This projected track is just awful. A Category 5 hurricane making landfall in Jamaica late Monday night or Tuesday morning.

There is a long history of hurricanes making landfall in Jamaica, the most notable was Hurricane Gilbert. It made landfall near Kingston in 1988 as a Category 4 hurricane. Before Sandy made its trip up the east coast of the United States in 2012. it first went over Jamaica as a Category 1 hurricane. Jamaica's mountainous terrain makes the threat of mudslides and landslides from Melissa much worse. Entire communities will become isolated with no power or communication. Unfortunately, Melissa will probably go down as the worst storm to hit the island in modern times. Praying for the good people of Jamaica.
