After a few months of development and testing, we are happy to announce that we have completed our new certification approach for specific EV models, combining simultaneous OBD diagnostics and OEM API integration to further improve the quality and reliability of the certificates provided by PKC Power checK Control.
The first vehicle included in this new generation approach is the first-generation Renault Megane E-Tech (2022–2024).
This is a very important vehicle for the European used EV market, as starting from June 2026 a large number of units will begin returning to dealers and used car operators following the expiration of long-term rental and leasing contracts.
For this reason, understanding the real battery condition and the battery State of Health (SoH) of these vehicles becomes essential both for professional dealers and for future customers approaching the used EV market.
Starting from PKC update 950 and later versions, the Renault Megane E-Tech is now officially supported by PKC Power checK Control through our new hybrid diagnostic architecture.
Our innovative approach is based on the simultaneous acquisition and correlation of data coming from:
• the OBD diagnostic port of the vehicle
• OEM cloud/API information
• advanced consistency checks between the different data sources
This dual verification methodology allows us to increase robustness, improve anomaly detection capabilities, and provide even more reliable battery health certifications for the used EV market.
The evolution of EV battery certification continues.
