EMail [email protected] for info and quotes IKE Racing was set up in 2020 in Reggio Emilia, from an idea of Andrea Zivian, businessman and driver, known as “Zippo”. Born in 1972, with 30 years of activity in motorsport, lover of the rallies of the 90s and great fan of the late Colin McRae. To remember the flamboyant Scottish driver, Ike acquired the first group A Subaru Impreza – the number #1 –
of the seven replicas produced by Best Engineering, with the McRae family support. The car has been personalised for and together with Ike Racing, with an eye to the access of the cars homologated up to 2000 in historic rallies, which is expected for 2026. The return in rallying of the Group A 4wd would be accompanied by the return of the kit cars too. Looking forward to this, Ike planned to bring back to the stages also its Peugeot 306 Maxi (chassis n.90, used by David Salanon, winner of the French National Cup in 2010 and 2011). It has been necessary to recover the engineering know-how through an accurate rebuilding of the car and its specific parts. It has been necessary to actualize some parts and to correct some others as they were weak, outdated or not optimised for the comfort and the safety of the crew. All of the above has been achieved, overcoming enormous technical difficulties, thanks to the assistance of Sportech Engineering (in the person of Mario Fornaris, the engineer that created the iconic French 2wd), to the support of Tedak Racing (manufacturer of the Italian N5 cars) and R.T.R. Project (Italian engineering company, which made the gearbox). Rebuilt parts have been tested on the 306 Maxi owned by Sebastian Loeb, to confirm their validity. Now IKE is preparing two brand new Peugeot 306 Maxi, starting from two original chassis that Matter (which manufactured the cars back in the 90s) built specifically for IKE (n. 119 and n. 120). The realisation of the cars will be accompanied by an online shop service for all the parts, which is now being implemented. The brand-new Peugeot 306 Maxi will go through a phase of testing, in which also Sebastien Loeb will be involved, and would be available for rent since mid-2025. With them and the Best Impreza McRae Edition #1 Ike Racing wants to revive the mythical duels that made beat the hearts of many rally fans on the tarmac stages in the 90s and to bring back, in historic events, the sound of the engines that marked a golden period of rallying.
