Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo

A tribute to a history shaped by people, driven by automotive culture, defined by an uncompromising attention to detail.

At its heart, a 3.4-litre V8 with two valves per cylinder, delivering 380 hp at 8,250 rpm and 37 kgm of torque, with a total weight of just 950 kg. Paired with a manual dog-engagement gearbox, it creates a raw, mechanical connection between driver and car.

A tubular chassis constructed from elliptical-section tubes and composite panels, billet-machined light-alloy components, and full carbon-fibre bodywork embody a singular philosophy: every detail has a purpose, every solution serves performance.

Fifty years after the homologation of the legendary 308 Gruppo 4, a tribute comes to life.

On October 10, in the cloisters of Palazzo Moroni in the heart of Padua, the Michelotto Gruppo 4 Tributo was unveiled.

Promoted by AC Motorsport, the project celebrates Giuliano Michelotto and the company he founded, Michelotto Group, which also engineered, developed and built the car.

It is a modern car, engineered with the same rigour Michelotto has brought for over fifty years to racing and high-performance road cars for the world’s leading manufacturers.

It all began with a dinner organised by Francesco Calzavara, who worked at Michelotto for ten years, together with the young people who took part in the US project involving the F40 Competizione. Giuliano Michelotto was also there that evening.

It was a wonderful gathering, where stories, emotions and countless anecdotes came back to life, some of which Giuliano Michelotto himself was hearing for the first time.

The evocative power of those memories inspired Francesco to write a book recounting this extraordinary chapter of his life, together with the colleagues who shared it with him.

Francesco gave shape to the story, capturing every nuance that emerged that evening and, through careful research into documents, data and personal testimonies, reconstructing the details of an adventure that, as you read, feels as though you are experiencing it all over again. During the dinner, the most significant events that have shaped more than fifty years of Michelotto’s history were brought back to life.

A fundamental part of this journey was the 308 Gruppo 4 programme.

Once again this year, the collaboration between Michelotto and .n.r continues with great enthusiasm.

Through the 𝗙𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 – 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵-𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, we worked alongside the students of Liceo Giulio Casiraghi in Milan, supporting the manufacturing of aluminum molds for their carbon fiber wheels.

The team secured 🥇𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵-𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 and also claiming:
