Isotta Fraschini Motori is proud to contribute to the delivery of the Logistic Support Ship Atlante, built by Fincantieri for the Italian Navy.

The vessel is equipped with an Isotta Fraschini Motori emergency generator set
(LSS – 920 kWe / 1150 kVA, 50 Hz, 1500 rpm, 690 VAC), ensuring reliability, safety and operational continuity in line with stringent naval military requirements.

This contribution further confirms the role of Isotta Fraschini Motori within high-complexity naval programmes and highlights the strength of Fincantieri supply chain in supporting strategic defence assets.

Questa mattina allo a Brindisi nel panel “IDROGENO: dalla bolla mediatica a protagonista del mix energetico del Paese e dell’Europa” é intervenuto Gianluca PISCOPO, Responsabile Centro Innovazione e Sviluppo di Isotta Fraschini Motori, Società del Gruppo .

É stata condivisa la nostra traiettoria tecnologica verso la decarbonizzazione del settore sia marittimo che terrestre.
Una roadmap concreta che integra motori endotermici alimentati a e Sistemi PEM in architetture ibride per la generazione di potenza per applicazioni marine, naval, cold ironing, microgrid e backup. Questa strategia è sostenuta da infrastrutture di test dedicate (banchi ICE fino a 6.300 kW e FC fino a 3.000 kW) e si inserisce nel grande Progetto “ ” di Fincantieri, finanziato dall’Unione Europea – NextGenerationEU ed è supportato anche dal Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy. L'agevolazione prevista rientra nell’intervento del Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR), nell’ambito .

Continuiamo a trasformare l’idrogeno da promessa a protagonista operativo del mix energetico.

Abbiamo inaugurato oggi, nel nostro stabilimento di Bari, la nuova linea produttiva dedicata allo sviluppo e al collaudo di Sistemi Integrati Fuel Cell a idrogeno.

Grazie al supporto del Gruppo Fincantieri e con il contributo del Fondo Europeo di Sviluppo Regionale della Regione Puglia, continua il nostro impegno nella trasformazione dello stabilimento di Bari in un Polo Tecnologico d’avanguardia orientato al Net Zero.

I nostri Sistemi Integrati, destinati a soluzioni navali e terrestri nei settori civile e della difesa, contribuiranno alla decarbonizzazione dei trasporti e dell’industria, nell’ambito di un più ampio impegno del Gruppo per l’innovazione sostenibile, con progetti come , parte dell’IPCEI “ ” sull’idrogeno.

We are proud to be on board the KRI BRAWIJAYA-320, the first unit of the MPCS/PPA program, delivered by Fincantieri to the .

Following Fincantieri's official announcement, we are pleased to contribute to this important strategic project by supplying the on-board power generation system for the KRI BRAWIJAYA-320 and its sister ship, the KRI PRABU SILIWANGI-321.

Each vessel will be equipped with n° 4 VL1716C2ME2 generator sets, each capable of delivering 1670 kW at 1200 RPM, 60 Hz, ensuring reliable and cutting-edge performance.

This collaboration further strengthens the partnership between Isotta Fraschini Motori, Fincantieri, and the Indonesian Ministry of Defence, in the name of innovation and maritime security.

Fincantieri ha consegnato nel cantiere di Ancona Viking Vesta, 14ª nave costruita dal Gruppo per la società armatrice Viking, comprese le due unità expedition realizzate dalla controllata norvegese .

Isotta Fraschini Motori è a bordo anche di questa 14ª nave con il Gruppo Elettrogeno di Emergenza Modello V 1712 T3, con la potenza di 1320kW @ 1800rpm

Le unità Viking sono costruite secondo le più recenti normative in tema di navigazione e sicurezza, sono dotate di motori ad alta efficienza e sistemi che riducono al minimo l'inquinamento dei gas di scarico e che soddisfano le più severe normative ambientali.

at Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata, a forum dedicated to the presentation and exchange of system and technological advances, research results, and real-world applications in the broad fields of innovative paths toward a sustainable transport sector.

On this occasion, we presented a speech titled "𝗜𝘀𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆: 𝗔 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀." Our presentation emphasized the importance of integrated power supply systems, driven by digitalized processes, which can guarantee efficient functionality throughout the complete lifecycle of the components. This approach is a cornerstone of our Group’s industrial plan and is supported by our collaborative activities with the University.

Additionally, we had the chance to showcase our decarbonization program, which focuses on reducing emissions across all its products, including hydrogen fuel cells, new internal combustion engines compatible with alternative fuels, and hybrid systems.

With the project of the world’s first cruise ship powered by fuel cells and onboard-stored hydrogen, Fincantieri marks a historic milestone for shipbuilding and the entire maritime industry.

We are proud to contribute to this ambitious vision by developing a new generation of fuel cell systems designed for both marine and land-based applications.

A project that represents not only a technological advancement, as our CEO Andrea Bochicchio commented, but also a concrete step toward a cleaner and more efficient future.

As part of the collaboration with Viking, IFM will provide tailor-made technological solutions for the new Viking Libra, which will feature innovative systems for hydrogen loading and storage directly onboard, using a containerized solution designed to overcome current supply chain challenges.

The hydrogen will power a PEM (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane) fuel cell system, specifically optimized for cruise operations and entirely designed and manufactured by IFM.

This achievement reinforces our role as a key player in the adoption of green fuels and advanced energy systems, making a concrete contribution to the sustainable transition of both maritime and land-based sectors.
