Its a Saturday. “Let’s Try Something New”

If you have a Triumph Scrambler and using a saddle bag, you know the struggle. Some of us have already burnt one or more bags due to the upswept exhaust system.

2 days ago, while we were making changes on our BOLT windshield, many of you shared your stories of how desperately you wanted something to minimise the effect of the hot fumes the exhaust throw towards the bags. So it made us realize that “We are not alone”.

We have thought about 2 mods which may help mitigate the risk of burnt bags.

1) A reflective heat shield for the bags, bolted on the bags. While this is a good solution, since the market has a number of bags with a number of designs available, we will reserve it our own bags we are launching soon.

2) An option where we make a big enough deflector which can be mounted directly onto the exhaust itself. While the protection might not be as much as the 1st option, it can re-direct some of the hot gases away from the bags and also can function as a direct heat shield for the bag when come in contact with exhaust.

Here is a simple working prototype of what we are trying today. While this is just a prototype, we are trying to build it into a full fledged meaningful product which blends well with the exhaust.

- We will try to reduce the size a little at the bottom

You can pitch in with your ideas. As we are doing R&D, we can add any good suggestions and see how better it may turn out.

UPDATE: Regarding BOLT Windshield for Scrambler and Speed 400:



Thank you for your immense support over the past couple of days. However most of you contacted us personally and suggested a couple fo changes to be added if feasible.

1) Change the number plate holder from Top Hole Position to the Bottom Hole Position.
- We have accommodated this request and made a new holder. Now the number plate is placed at a lot lower position, bordering the Headlight curvature.

2) Change the side mounting brackets from Fork to somewhere else.
- We checked and felt that it was a genuine ask. Scrambler fork clamps have softer metal threading. So we have moved the mounting to the headlight inner bolts without disturbing the crucial fork assembly.

Due to these changes, we had put the shipments on "Hold" for a couple of days. Not that the new brackets are getting ready, we are expecting to ship out the new set of BOLT windshield with improved brackets by EOD 5th June.

Hope the new changes are more meaningful for the end users.
