GORKHA AFTERALL: Hill Trinamool speaks out against attacks on hill people in Siliguri

Hill TMC President Rajen Mukhia has condemned the attacks on Hill people in Siliguri. He has said, "In the name of taking out rallies hill people are being threatened, attacked, their vehicles are being vandalised...... I strongly condemn such cowardly attack on our people.

Communal issue can ignite widespread chaos in the region. It will be difficult to stop if one community is targetted and victimised...... Our Gorkha people have thr right to face safety and security wherever they reside. In Siliguri, the Gorkha community people, specially the students are feeling insecure. They should not have to live in such an atmosphere of threat. On behalf of the Hill Trinamool Congress, I request everyone not the target the Gorkhalis."

He further added, "anyone indulging in communal violence should be strictly dealt with by the administration."
