In the early 1900s, luxury had to prove more than beauty.

🌧️ Poor roads tested durability.
⛰️ Mountain gradients tested torque and gearing.
🔥 Long descents tested braking and heat control.

An engine needs fuel — and oxygen.

Forced induction increases the mass of air entering the cylinders, allowing more fuel to be burned under controlled conditions. Each system achieves that differently:

⚙️ SUPERCHARGER — mechanically driven by the engine. Fast response, but it consumes crankshaft power.

🔥 TURBOCHARGER — uses exhaust-gas energy to drive the compressor. Turbine inertia, exhaust pressure and heat affect response.

⚡ E-TURBO — an electric motor can accelerate the turbo shaft before exhaust flow alone can and, in advanced systems, may recover electrical energy.

🔋 HYBRID RECOVERY — recovers kinetic energy during deceleration, stores it in a high-voltage battery and redeploys it during acceleration.

Different brands, different philosophies:
