. Reading the dipstick correctly is about precision, not just presence:
1. The Sweet Spot (Safe)
The Marker: The oil film sits comfortably between the two holes or notches.
Status: Labeled with a green check, this is the "Normal engine oil level." It indicates your engine is perfectly lubricated and cooled.
2. The Warning Zone (Low & Danger)
Low: The oil sits right at the bottom marker. The advice is to "Add oil soon." It's a warning sign, meaning you are running on the minimum reserve.
Danger: The oil barely touches the tip of the stick, far below the minimum mark. This is critical: "Oil refill is necessary." Driving in this state risks catastrophic engine seizure due to oil starvation.
3. The Hidden Threat (Excessive)
Too Much: Many drivers think "more is better," but the image marks the level above the top hole as "Excessive" with a red stop sign.
Consequence: The text warns that this "can cause damage". Overfilling causes the rotating crankshaft to whip the oil into a froth (aeration).Air bubbles don't lubricate, leading to wear, and the excess pressure can blow out engine seals.
