Quick look on 2014 Karizma R changes over the outgoing one. 2014 Karizma R gets a redesigned fairing which design is left to debate. LED tail lamps and pilot lamps are other new additions. The most interesting change is the new rear cowl which houses a fatter tyre (120). The new split seats and split grab rail adds glamour to the bike. But the new rear design spoils the overall styling – seems like rear and frontal design are made by different designers.

On the engine side, 2014 Karizma R produces 2.2bhp and 1Nm more than outgoing karizma which results in faster acceleration and greater drive-ability. The top speed figure as per the company is now 126kmph. But it has gained 4kg of extra weight which would neutralise the revised power figures. New karizma is priced Rs94,000 (on-road mumbai)

Hero Motocorp has replaced the old model with a snazzier Hero Xtreme, priced Rs 66,515 onwards

2014 Hero MotoCorp Xtreme facelift

Hero MotoCorp has launched a refreshed version of the Hero Xtreme 150cc motorcycle in India. The new Xtreme remains mechanically identical to the outgoing model and comes powered with the same 150cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 14.4PS of maximum power and peak toque of 12.8Nm.

However, there are some design enhancements, including a new visor with ‘highbrow’ positioned pilot lamps, chrome accents on the matt-black exhaust, gas-charged rear shocks, re-profiled LED taillamp and wider (110 / 90 x 18) 18-inch rear tyre. The new Hero Xtreme also has some additional features like a redesigned instrument cluster sporting an analogue speedo with integrated digital console, engine immobiliser, side-stand warning light and a segment-first underseat mobile charging socket.

The new Hero Xtreme is offered in four body colour options – red, orange, white and blue. There are two variants to choose from, the front disc equipped model at Rs 66,515 ex-showroom Mumbai and the front and rear disc version priced at Rs 69,530 (ex-showroom Mumbai). This model has been dispatched to Hero dealerships across India and booking are being accepted. frm PADMAVATHI MOTORS KOTHAKOTA
