Our CEO, Sandith Thandasherry, had the privilege of meeting the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri V D Satheesan, to discuss the next chapter of the state's sustainable maritime journey.

The conversation focused on advancing the electrification of Kerala's waterways - clean public transport, cargo mobility, sustainable fishing, green port infrastructure, energy systems, and marine manufacturing.

Over the last decade, Kerala has led the country in solar electric ferries for passenger transport. That leadership now moves to harder cargo: the state's first electric RoRO is under construction, and cargo movement on the waterways is next. Cargo is a far tougher problem than passengers - heavier loads, longer routes, tighter economics - and the government is willing to take it on.

As India's largest electric boat manufacturer, Navalt is proud to support that vision and contribute towards building cleaner, smarter, and more resilient waterways for the future.
