Royal Enfield’s early years and racing successes at the Brooklands circuit and the Isle of Man TT had quite a many interesting stories. It was in 1914 at the Isle of Man Junior TT races that, for the first time ever, every rider was wearing crash helmets. The race was legendary as 8 out of the 9 ROyal Enfield motorcycles that started the race finished it with flying colours. Notable were the the grit and tenacity shown by the factory riders, especially Fred J Walker and Dougie Alexander.
