Caution : We have seen people driving on tyres with worn out treads which in common parlance means bald tyres. Lot of lives are lost around the world due to accidents happening because of worn out tyres. Some countries have promulgated laws to ban driving on worn out treads but in India we do not have any such kind of law.
Till the law makes it compulsory, we have to be careful ourselves. The role of the grooves and sipes which form a tread pattern is to ensure evacuation of water from under the tyres and worn out grooved in the tyre leads to skidding of vehicle on wet roads. The worn out tyres are also prone to blow outs due to extreme built up which can happen when driven at high speeds.
Hence next time when you take your car out for a drive please have a look at the condition of your tread.
Every tyre these days has a tread wear indicator . It is a raised block of rubber embedded inside the grooves of the tread pattern. In case you find that tread of your tyre has worn down till the top of this indicator , please do not waste time and immediately go for replacement of your tyres. By doing this small exercise you may end up saving your life and also lives of your dear ones. Further please spread this message. You never know a small click from you may end up saving a life.

We have been repeatedly asked, how frequent should we get the wheel alignment done? One thing is sure, getting wheel alignment done only at the time of your routine car service is not a good idea especially when you are driving on the Indian roads. Alignment here in our country gets distorted much more frequently due to bad road conditions. Our advice is to get wheel alignment done at least once in 2 months or whenever you realise that you have driven into a big pothole which could have led to misalignment of your wheels. This way you can save a lot on your tyre life.
