Exploring the vast field of automobile engineering, six final year BTech (mechanical engineering) students of the local CT Group of Institutions have designed and fabricated a hybrid bike in the style of a chopper named 'E-vollution'. Key Features of Bike:
1)The swanky bike, which gives an adrenalin rush, has been made as an answer to the escalating petrol prices, depleting conventional petroleu
m-based fuels and environment pollution.
2)Built at a cost of Rs 4 lakh, the students fabricated the prototype within a short span of five months. However, the initial planning and fabrication of the bike started right from day when students conceptualised this idea.
3)It also has a special feature of regenerative braking system, which harnesses the excess energy to extend the battery charge. When the bike is running on the electric mode, it can be referred to as stealth mode as it lacks engine noise," he added.
4)The bike has been given a chopper look by designing the frame longer accompanied by a stretched front end. It has an extended wheel base with fat rear tyre, top speed of 90 km per hour when running in electric mode and a speed of 110 km per hour when running on petrol.
5)As the name implies, the bike has a combination of two distinct power sources - an internal combustion engine and other a variable frequency drive electric motor, which works on 72 Volt electric system.
6)The bike has a 350cc Enfield engine while its batteries get fully charged within four to five hours and can propel the bike up to 50 km in a single charge.
7)Its batteries get fully charged within four to five hours which can propel the bike up to 50 km. Our Team:
