The automobile market in India was dominated by Ambassador and Fiat till 80s when Maruti entered into the market. Their auto technology was simple mechanical and an illiterate roadside mechanic could diagnose problem area and repair the automobile. With the advent of IC based technology, the vehicle converted into a tech gadget with almost every function dependent on electronic circuit; be it fuel injection, a/c control, pollution control, hydraulics, braking, balancing, light management and many such functions. It is getting difficult for a roadside mechanic to understand all those tech functions and repair/trouble shoot a stranded vehicle. They are not aware or well updated about new technological advancements in the automobile industry, especially with introduction of standard Norms, the latest being BS6. They still follow old mechanical methods to repair new cars with modern technology. They are not well aware about the changes coming in petrol and diesel run cars and also lack knowledge of ‘All electric’ vehicles, which is fast becoming the new future of automobiles. Further, the local workshops find it difficult to source right tools and spare parts of automobile. Since the learning sector in this field is highly unorganized, they are also unaware of new diagnostic tools in the market. As a result of these shortcomings, local mechanics have to rely on others to solve their technical and electrical problems or they are becoming redundant and jobless. There is willingness to learn but they are clueless about economical and easily accessible center to hone up their knowledge and skills. They are willing to spend time and money on the training if they find a good institute which can educate them about the industry and technical processes. To fulfil the learning vacuum, JustAuto worked on a novel concept to impart the vehicle mechanics advanced practical training about the existing and evolving technologies in automobile field and keep them updated through highly interactive mobile based application. The short term objective of JustAuto is to impart state of the art training on Electrical, Electronic, Technical and Mechanical aspect of automobile diagnostic and repair technology to the mechanics/ workers of Automobile workshops and to keep them updated with technical changes in Auto industry through customised online/offline training programs and provide them a mobile app based platform to source tools and automobile parts/ accessories. The existing training center offers a range of diagnostic training including Car / Truck ECM repair, scanning, Key Programming, Car / Truck Electrician Training, 2 wheeler repair training at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The training curriculum compliments the budding Automobile and Mechanical engineering students to help gain practical knowledge about their field.
