Simple Energy is finally going mainstream.

The Bengaluru brand has confirmed it will unveil its first family electric scooter on 2 September 2026. The name isn’t official yet — “Arrive” comes from trademark filings — and no specs, range or price have been shared.

What the test mules have shown so far:

• Flat single-piece seat
• Dual-chamber headlamp on the apron
• Front disc, rear drum brakes
• Twin rear shocks and a centre stand
• Colour TFT display
• Front storage cubby

Until now Simple has stuck to the performance end with the One and the Ultra, which claims a 400 km IDC range. This is the company’s first crack at the segment that actually sells — the one led by the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.

For reference, the rivals: Rizta Z 3.7 kWh claims 159 km, iQube ST 5.3 kWh claims 212 km, Chetak 3501 3.5 kWh claims 153 km.

Simple also offers a lifetime warranty on motor and battery, builds heavy rare-earth-free motors in India, and raised ₹250 crore this year to expand.

Kia has priced the Syros EV — its second made-in-India electric car.

Ex-showroom prices:
42 kWh
• HTK — ₹13.49 lakh
• HTK+ — ₹14.99 lakh
• HTX — ₹15.99 lakh

51.4 kWh Extended Range
• HTK+ ER — ₹16.99 lakh
• HTX ER — ₹17.99 lakh
• HTX+ ER — ₹19.49 lakh
• X-Line ER — ₹19.99 lakh

Range is 443 km (42 kWh) and 526 km (51.4 kWh), both ARAI MIDC Full. Power is 171 PS, 0–100 kmph takes 8.1 seconds with the bigger pack, and a 100 kW DC charger does 10–80% in 39 minutes.

The money angle is the interesting part. Battery-as-a-Service lets you buy the car from ₹7.99 lakh and pay for the battery separately at ₹3.3 per km. There’s a 15-year battery warranty with unlimited km for the first owner, and an assured buyback of up to 80% after 3 years — that one is an introductory offer for bookings made within 60 days of launch.

Sales start from 30th July, 2026.

That camouflaged EV spied testing in India isn’t a Tata Avinya.

It’s the Exeed Sterra ET — sold as the Exlantix ET outside China — a near-5-metre SUV from Exeed, Chery’s premium brand.

But the confusion is understandable, because the connection is real: the Sterra ET rides on Chery’s E0X platform, and that’s the same Chery-JLR architecture Tata will use for its upcoming Avinya range. Tata is running this car in India as a test bed — validating the platform while adapting the electronics and software for Indian conditions.

What the Sterra ET packs in China:
· Up to 100 kWh battery, 800V architecture
· 760 km CLTC range (RWD Max)
· Up to 310 hp, 0-100 in 3.8 sec (Ultra AWD)
· Range-extender version: 1,518 km combined
· 4,955 mm long, 3,000 mm wheelbase

The first Avinya — the Avinya X — is due in 2027.
