Break the Barriers !
NEET is not new, NEET not an
Entrance but NEET is Eligibility, The
Eligibility you can never have !
An age old tactic to stop the
equality.
Regarding Medical Services,
Tamilnadu always been in top and
that irritates many. Tamilnadu is
not just a state but been a pioneer
in breaking barriers of any kind to
assert Social Justice.
When Medical Services was in rise
in 18th-19th century, Women were
forbidden to study/practice
Medicine.
In 1878, Mary Scharlieb was one of
the first women in the world to
become a doctor. Guess where it
happened ? Yes, Madras Medical
College !! She was not allowed to
study medicine in Britain since she
was a woman but Madras Medical
College demolished that barrier.
Dr.Muthulakshmi (Formerly known
as Muthulaxmi Reddi) was one of
the first Indian Women become a
Doctor.
But unlike Dr.Mary Scharlieb,
Dr.Muthalaxmi had different
problem.
As being woman itself a barrier
those times, Madras Medical College
had Sanskrit Distinction as
eligibility to enter in their premise.
But again, what’s the big deal ?
There comes the trick, Sanskrit had
Sacred Thread as Eligibility.
But still Dr.Muthulaxmi broke the
barrier but she faced scathing
disturbance from Male Students by
citing reasons like she demoralizes
the Male Students. Thankfully
Maharaja of Pudukottai ignored
these objections, admitted her to
the college and gave her a
scholarship.Thus, she became the
first women doctor of India.
Till 1925, Madras Medical College
had Sanskrit as Eligibility to enter
into their premise. It was Periyar
with the help of Justice Party,
continuously worked against such
atrocity and demolished the
injustice once for all.
Even after tireless works of
Stalwart like Periyar, Medical
Colleges had Interview System in
selection of “Eligible” students. This
was again disaster in the process of
Social Justice because this Interview
System lacked transparency and
paved a way for corruption and
specifically Upper Caste based
Candidate Selection.
Thanks to Former CM MGR, who
clearly understood this viciousness
and destroyed this barrier by
bringing in Entrance Exam. Yes, at
this time Entrance Exam was very
very important to assert Social
Justice and MGR stood by it. (Sadly
some Hardcore DMK people don’t
understand why MGR did this) But
again, This Entrance din't
completely promise transparency
since Upper Caste/Rich People were
able to influence colleges. So Cut Off
Marks dint matter much since
through influence Rich/Upper Caste
people fetched top colleges.
Thanks to Kalaignar Karunanidhi,
He was a pioneer of what TN
Medical System is now. He was the
one who brought absolute
transparency and made things
Public.
All Marks and Cut Off Marks are
public, No matter how rich or
influential you are, Unless you get
the required Cut Off Mark, You can
never get into the top colleges.
Because since all the marks and cut
off marks are in public domain ,
you would be easy caught red
handed if you even try to climb up
the ladder. This is the most
important step in Social Justice.
Later, Kalaignar Karunanidhi
abolished Entrance Exams since he
felt it’s utterly useless and also a
barrier for downtrodden people.
(Will explain later in this post)
Before we go into further, I like to
point to out that inspite of
numerous steps taken by Dravidian
Movement to assert Social Justice,
There was a fundamental structural
problem which both Dravidian
Parties struggled to understand.
Though there is transparency and
no Entrance Exams, Many Schools
especially with given infrastructure
struggled with their students (who
are only 2nd- 3rd-4th generation
people who have access to basic
Education) to cope with given
criteria of the Government’s Medical
Entry.
School runs by Upper Caste People
(gives first preference to Upper
Caste Students) and Schools in
Chennai (Richie Rich) topped the
exams through vigorous training
and home tuition (sometimes with
malpractice/paper chasing too).
This was the first time in TN
Educational History where Home
Tuition Concept evolved into Class
based, Hour based Training for
single subject . Example 4 classes
costed 2000-3000rs for single
subject.
Both Dravidian Parties Government
literally had no answer to this. As
Education became business, there
was a steep rise in many schools
which specifically concentrated in
Higher Secondary alone. Especially
Rasipuram Schools fetched more
attention than anything else. These
schools managed to succeed at
various levels by adapting same
training and methods of Chennai
based Upper Caste Schools. Except
Caste dint matter in Rasipuram
Schools but fees did.
This tremendous success of these
schools irritated many Chennai/
Uppercaste Schools, As a result
Media started spewing venom on
schools of Rasipuram etc. They
have even went to extent of
naming those schools as ”CHICKEN
FARM”, Actually they dint name it
but branded it. Various steps were
taken to bringdown such schools.
I'm not here in favor of any but
spewing venom only on Rasipuram
Schools and branding it meanly but
at the same time keeping absolute
silence on Padma Seshadris and
DAV is extremely vicious tactic to
do so. There is a clear cut agenda
behind it. So called Social Activist
worked as sleeper cells for this
propaganda.
Even I’m not in the favor putting
extreme pressure on Students but
what choice do they have ?
When their so called “Eligibility” is
set as to drink water upside down,
they got no choice except to
comply with. Abolishing Mark
Based Education may be a valid
dream but in reality students life
has to go on and they got mouths
to feed in near future. These
schools produced more doctors
with given so called “Eligibility”,
This extremely pi**ed of many
Upper Caste Mafias and they
working for their life to put up a
barrier for poor/downtrodden
people from being educated and
their tactics comes in the name of
Entrance Exams.
Now coming back to "Why
Kalaignar abolished Entrance Exams
and why Entrance are useless" ,
Let me explain like this. I'm gonna
include Reservation Policy into this
so that we can avoid confusions.
Consider there are there students
namely Seshadri , Arun and
Ambedkar passing out in their 12th
exams where Seshadri gets
200/200, Arun gets 198/200 and
Ambedkar gets 196/200 in their cut
off marks. Seshadri straightway
goes to the top college since he
tops the cut off mark.
With given available Reservation
Quota - Arun and Ambedkar may
get in the same college where
Seshadri went in.
If all these three have entrance
exams, they are not going to write
something special for MBBS Seat
but they are only going to write
what they learnt in their Higher
Secondary (Biology) which is been
already tested in 12th Exam. So
Entrance Exam doest matter at all.
Now Arun and Ambedkar have
lesser mark than Seshadri but
managed to get into same college
as Seshadri. So does it paves a way
to lesser qualified doctors ?
Absolutely NO ! This is a common
vicious propaganda against
Reservation System.
Let me put like this, As Three of
them entered into same college….
Now all there have same exams
and same training with no special
concessions or quota.
All three have Internals, Models,
University Exams ! with no Quota
or no special concession.
Same Exams,tests and training for
all three with no Quota or no
special concession.
A medical student undergoes
110-130 tests excluding Prize
Exam. (Number may little vary from
college to college but this is
average tests they undergo)
In these tests there is no free pass
for anyone. All have same rules !
You see the reality ? Arun and
Ambedkar faces more challenge
than Seshadri here !
That’s the truth and that’s the
point.
Similar things applies for PG too.
History TN Medical System have
crossed many barriers to assert
Social Justice. They have tried to
stop us in many ways they could
and still trying but yet we have
crossed all the barriers to set
ourselves as an example to the
world.
Now, They have again started a
war against us in the name of NEET
(National "Eligibility” and Entrance
Test”).
Dont be surprised if Hindi been set
as Eligibility !
When Final Judgement of Supreme
Court regarding NEET was not out
yet but yet we had a Judge who
said "If Im a Hi**er I would have
made Bhagavat Gita compulsory"
withdrew the judgement of
Supreme Court which was against
NEET.
He has even spelled a separate
judgement in the favor of NEET.
They are everywhere and in every
way to stop us.
As we know our history, We always
crossed any Entrances because it’s
based on Talent but Eligibility?
That’s a special case since its
viciously designed in way to stop
us in every way they could.
Because since 2000 years, even
most dedicated holy person is not
eligible to enter into Temple’s
Sanctum Sa****um.
That's the Eligibility you can never
have !
Eligibility is their way of saying “I’m
holier than you and you do not
enter” But yet our track record says,
We will break the barriers and we
are the examples !
We have produced World's first
women doctor !
We have produced India's first
women doctor !
We will produce many !
They have again started a war on
us and we will win it at any cost.
