AMU Engineering students get ‘The Best Innovation Award’ for hybrid vehicle

Aligarh, December 12: Team Green Warriors of the SAE ZHCET Collegiate Club, a group of engineering students from the Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) won plaudits after receiving ‘The Best Innovation Award’ for designing a three-wheeled environment friendly vehicle powered by human and electric drive train in the EFFI-CYCLE 2022 held at the Lovely Professional University, Punjab.

The AMU students were competing against teams from various IITS, NITs and other central universities at the event.

“Our hybrid vehicle can be operated by charging the battery through non-conventional methods and it has an intelligent system consisting of an open CV, Raspberry Pi, Pi Camera Module, a drowsiness alert system to prevent accidents and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) systems like Anti-theft, reverse parking assist, mini-computer, speedometer and navigation”, said Shadab Khan (Captain, Team Green Warriors).

Extending congratulations to the Team Green Warriors, Prof M Muzammil (Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering) said, “The ergonomic and efficient hybrid vehicle designed by our students offer solutions to pollution that is touching alarming levels”.

“The prototype vehicle was designed, manufactured and assembled with great dedication and hard work”, said Dr Syed Fahad Anwer and Nafees Ahmad, the faculty advisors to the SAE ZHCET Collegiate Club.

Team Green Warriors comprise Shadab Khan (Captain), lram Abid (Vice Captain), Ahraz Shamim (Manager), Ksh*tij Gupta (Treasurer), Sarim Khan (Business Lead), Pratyush Kaushik (Electronics Lead), Mirza Ahmed Beg, Mayank Awasthi, Mohd Munazir Mairaj, Mohammad Afzal, Mohd Sharib, Zoya Ahmad, and Saumya Agrawal.

Aligarh, June 25: The Society of Automotive Engineers Collegiate Club, Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, Aligarh Muslim University organized the installation ceremony of its newly appointed office bearers on June 25th, 2022 at the Mechanical Engineering department.

The programme initiated with the welcome address by Mr. Nafees Ahmad, the faculty advisor of the club. Delivering the presidential address, Prof. M Muzammil (Chairman, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering) congratulated the newly appointed chairs and encouraged them to work on the emerging field of e-mobility.

Dr. Syed Fahad Anwer (Faculty Advisor, SAE ZHCET) explained how the club provides aspiring engineers with
opportunities to explore the depths of mobility sector and various other fields of engineering.

The newly appointed office bearers of the club are Arquam Hashim Siddiquie (Chairperson), Anant Agarwal (Vice Chairperson), Syed Mohammad Barik (Treasurer), Syed Taimoor Ali (Secretary), Shadab Khan (Secretary), Tushar Gupta (Membership & Recruitment Coordinator), Mohammad Haris (Social Media & Event Coordinator), Ksh*tij Gupta (Social Media & Event Coordinator), Inayat Rasool (Public & Alumni Relations Coordinator), Mohd Ahad (Public & Alumni Relations Coordinator), Haisam Khurshid (Web Developer), and Uzma Masood (Web Developer).

The charge transfer proceeded with the transfer of the club's legacy as a token of responsibility to Arquam Hashim Siddiquie (Chairperson) by Yogesh Kumar (Former Chairperson).

The ceremony also marked the farewell of its outgoing chairholders who shared their experiences with the new
team and wished them the very best for the upcoming session. It included Yogesh Kumar (Former Chairperson), Syed Meesum Raza Zaidi (Former Treasurer), Mohd Aatif Qazi, Mohd Suboor Aziz.

An Industry-Institute Meet was organised at Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology on 7/03/22. The event's goal was to bridge the gap between academia and Aligarh's diverse enterprises. Different teams under SAE-ZHCET had the chance to interact with various industrialists and corporate leaders of Aligarh and showcase their achievements over last couple of years. Team Green Warriors also exibited there latest physical model The Albatross.
