Last Saturday, the BYD Waterford team took on the Ronin Challenge 2026 — and what a day it was.

We were delighted to support such a unique local event, raising funds for the Waterford Hospice Foundation, while getting a team of our own together to take on the challenge.

Our team of seven runners were all of very different abilities and running backgrounds, but we had one goal: to get to the finish line.

We completed the full 94.3km of the Waterford Greenway and back again in an incredible 9 hours and 7 minutes.

And yes… we came dead last out of 22 teams! 😂

But honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with the result. Every member of the team played their part, pushed themselves and kept going until the massive 94.3km was complete.

A special mention has to go to Joe Martin, who tore his calf muscle just 2km into his 7.8km section. Despite the injury, Joe dug deep and managed to complete his full distance and get back to the team. 💪

Our BYD Waterford runners:
🏃 Andrew Ryan — 12.2km
🏃 Gavin Downey — 25.3km
🏃 Hubert Forgiel — 10.6km
🏃 Orla Heffernan — 10.6km
🏃 Joe Martin — 7.8km
🏃 Derek Collins — 17.5km
🏃 Dylan Byrne — 9.4km

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and a massive thank you to the organisers and volunteers who made the day such a memorable one.

Most importantly, we’re proud to have played our part in supporting the Waterford Hospice Foundation and the incredible work they do in our community.

Roll on next year! 💚

Thinking about a BYD Seal or Sealion 7? There's an important SEAI Grant change coming on August 1st.

After this date, both models are expected to fall outside the new grant price cap, meaning they will no longer qualify for the standard SEAI Grant.

If you've been considering making the switch to electric, now is the time to act.

📍Contact BYD Waterford today and secure yours before the grant changes.

Another award. Another reason to choose BYD. 🏆

We're proud to share that BYD has been named 'Best New Car Ownership Experience' at the Carzone Car Awards 2026 Drivers' Choice Awards!

This award recognises more than just great cars. It's about the complete ownership journey – from quality and reliability to technology, value and the overall experience of living with a BYD every day.

Best of all, it's an award voted for by the people who know BYD best – its owners.

Thank you to everyone who has made the switch to BYD and shared their experience. If you're thinking about going electric, there's never been a better time to discover what makes BYD ownership so highly rated.

Visit BYD Waterford and experience the difference for yourself.
