Why does an alloy wheel repair take 2 hours+ at MrAlloy?

One of the questions we’re asked most is, How Long does it take to weld a Craked alloy wheel.

The answer is simple—we don’t just put a quick weld on your wheel and send you on your way.

Every cracked alloy wheel is professionally repaired by:

✅ Removing the wheel from the vehicle.
✅ Removing the tyre.
✅ Carefully inspecting the wheel for additional damage.
✅ Preparing the crack correctly before welding.
✅ TIG welding the crack to the highest standard.
✅ Straightening the wheel if required.
✅ Dressing and finishing the weld.
✅ Removing all loose paint and corrosion from the internal sealing bead.
✅ Repainting the repaired area.
✅ Refitting the tyre.
✅ Balancing the wheel.
✅ Pressure testing to ensure there are no leaks.
✅ Refitting the wheel to your vehicle and torquing correctly.

This process typically takes around 2 hours, but it ensures the repair is completed properly from start to finish.
