⚡ Budget 2027: What does it mean for EV owners and buyers?
There are some important updates for electric vehicle owners and anyone considering making the switch to electric in Ireland! 🇮🇪
Here's a quick look at what's changing and what's staying the same:
✅ EV VRT Relief Extended – Relief for qualifying electric vehicles will continue until 31 December 2028.
🚗 Higher VRT for Petrol & Diesel – From January 2027, VRT rates are set to increase for certain petrol and diesel vehicles.
⚡ Company Car BIK – Electric company cars continue to benefit from favourable BIK treatment, although some existing reliefs are scheduled to reduce in 2027.
✅ €120 Annual Motor Tax – Fully electric passenger cars continue to benefit from just €120 annual motor tax.
With continued incentives and the potential for lower running costs, there are still plenty of reasons to consider making the switch to electric!
