Having first opened it's doors in September 1999, Rally School Ireland has grown to become Ireland's premier motorsport facility. The brainchild of brothers David and Malachy Smyth, the school started with a fleet of 3 rally cars which over the years has grown to a fleet of over 20. The purpose built track is designed not only to test the driver, but the car too. Starting out solely as a rally school, RSI has branched out into drifting, supercar experiences and winter driver training and have built long standing relationships with respected brands such as Pirelli, Subaru and BMW.

Any time we hear a donegal accent when customer gets into one of the cars here at the Rally school, we know we're in for a good time out on the track!

In this clip, Coach David and one of our customers this weekend are out having the craic in one of our drift cars on the track. David thinks this customers partner up in the tower should be impressed with his driving as David certainly is!

Love seeing customer's come down to the track and drive the cars well, makes the day really fun for our instructors too!

Love seeing customer's hands shake with adrenaline after driving on the track at our Irish rally school.

In this video, Coach David and a customer get out on the track in one of our drift cars and have a blast on the track, and her hands are shaking with adrenaline when she gets back in from the drive.

With the power of the cars and the buzz in the cars, this happens a lot!

We see this regularly here at the Rally school, people referring to themselves as slow learners, bad drivers or someone who could never drive a car fast on track.

Often times it is women who are conditioned a bit to think this is something they can't do. In this clip, Coach David takes a customer who self describes as a slow learner and has her flying around the Rally track in no time.

We provide driving experiences for everyone and love taking customers like this and showing them what they are capable of!

Love to see people coming up to the track, listening to the coaches and pushing the cars hard here at the Rally school.

In this clip Coach David and a customer push hard for a good lap time at the Rally school, while also having some sideways fun in one of our rear wheel drive cars.

We provide the cars, track, facility, everything you need. Only thing we ask you to bring is a coachable mindset and we will have you flying out there

When we are asked about what is the best thing about running our Rally School here in Ireland, it's customer reactions like this.

This customer was out doing a drift stage with Coach Beanie and was in a great mood coming in. Our goal whenever people visit us here at the Rally school is to give them a unique day out and really leave them with a memory they will have for years to Come!

when we see happy customers like this, it makes the hard work worthwhile!

Coach David explaining to a customer how to brake while driving on the track here at the Rally school to carry the best speed out of the corner (and prevent little spins like you see happened here).

Before people start saying "there are more advanced braking techniques" of course there are but because we have a wide variety of skill levels here at the track, we keep it simple in general describing it as 1 brake, 1 turn and 1 gas.

Once people get into a flow state with that braking pattern, you see it really increase the speed of their lap times.

Let's just say there would have been a few fail red marks on this driving test haha.

Jokes aside, a piece of feedback that we regularly get from customers is that the driving tips our instructors give them do really help in real life situations, like for example, learning how to handle a car if it goes into a slide. In this clip Coach Beanie and a customer are doing a drift focused lap with more of a fun focus, but we like to think that anyone who does a session here will leave thinking about driving in a different way.

It's a nice feeling knowing that something we teach could go on to save a customers life in a real world situation!

One thing that people need to learn when they're driving the cars here at the Rally school is how to handle the power, especially in the rear wheel drive cars and if it's a slippy day on the track (and being in Ireland, a lot of days on the track are slippy...)

In this clip, Coach David works with a customer on learning how to control the power of the car and straighten it after coming out of a slide.

Love to see the hand shaking with adrenaline at the end, so fun seeing people getting out of the cars buzzing with their hands shaking, one of the best parts of the job!

Coach David, along with his brother Malachy and wife Veronica opened the Rally School 27 years ago here in Scotstown Co. Monaghan.

It was a very big risk at the time and a gargantuan amount of work over the years, but as you can see in this video, David still absolutely loves getting into the cars with the customers and having the craic! Is this the best 9-5 job in the world?

Take a risk and open the business, you never know, it might even work out!

We see this consistently at the Rally school where a woman will buy a voucher for her partner. Then when they get to the track, she'll decide to give it a go and then consistently she'll be faster than the fella!

It mostly happens because men consistently come to the track with the mentality "I'm a class driver" and ignore the instructors whereas women approach it with much less ego, and will listen to the lads to instruct on this track professionally. Then somehow they end up going quicker....

We're seeing more and more women visiting us here at the Rally school and we love to see it! Paula, you were absolutely sending it out there, great driving!
