After ten wonderful years, I have finished up my time in business at the Maxol service station in Portarlington.
I would like to sincerely thank all of my loyal customers for their support over the years — it has truly meant a great deal. A special word of thanks also goes to the fantastic staff I’ve had the privilege to work with. Your dedication, hard work, and friendship made every day that bit easier and far more enjoyable.
Together, we navigated some particularly challenging times, including a global pandemic and, more recently, a fuel shortage. The resilience, patience, and community spirit shown during those periods is something I will never forget, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who played their part in getting through it.
It has been a pleasure to be part of the business community in Portarlington, a town I have grown very fond of. It is a place full of great people and I believe it has huge potential for the future.
I would also like to wish Niamh Costello every success as she takes over. With her strong roots in the town, I have no doubt she will do extremely well and continue to serve the community with pride.
Thank you all again for the memories and support over the past decade.
I will truly miss the daily chats, the familiar faces, and being part of your routine — it’s something I’ll always look back on with great fondness.
Wishing you all the very best for the future.
