Just over a week to go until our 2nd Autocross of the year!
Round 2 of both the Frank Harrington Challenge and the MDMC Young Driver Support Scheme.

Fantastic day yesterday at the Mayo Motor Meet, thanks to everyone who visited our stand and had a chat about getting involved in motorsport.

Well done to the committee on the event, see ye all again next year.

Mayo Motor Meet takes place this weekend in Ballyhaunis and promises to be a fantastic event!

We will have a club display at the show, come along and see some competition cars and motorsport safety equipment!

📍Location: Main Street & Johnston's Car park, Knox Street, Ballyhaunis , Co. Mayo

🕑Gates Open: Due to demand and in the interest of health and safety, we have staggered the arrival times. Closer to the day, you will receive an entry time and we ask that you arrive at this allocated time.
🚪Gates Close: 2:30pm sharp (no entry/exit permitted after this time)
🕑Open to Public: 3:00pm – 5:30pm

Entry Fee:
€20 per car or €10 for bikes
Passengers ride free
Free admission for members of the public

Some Activities on the Day:
Guess the Bale, Guess How Long a Car Can Run Without Oil & Water, Guess how many balloons fit in a mini & MUCH MORE!!!

Once you enter, you’ll need to stay until 5:30pm. This helps us keep everything running smoothly and safely for all vehicles and spectators. Don’t worry, provisions are in place if an emergency situation comes up, and our team will be there to assist if needed. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation.

Awnings, tents, marquees etc. must be pre-approved and may be subject to an extra fee.

We’re both really looking forward to Thursday night and officially launching The Daisy Voyage at The Tile Warehouse, Westport.

There’ll be food from The Creel, music from Neantóg, Brendan O’Donovan as MC for the evening and a some words from Cancer Fund for Children about Daisy Lodge Mayo and what this fundraising will support.

Looking forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces there 💛

Saddened to hear of the passing of Kevin Barrett. Kevin (Pictured below, Winner of the 2011 Mayo Stages Rally) was a fantastic competitor and supporter of Irish motorsport.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

𝐌𝐃𝐌𝐂 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Starting with Lorcan Moore who has just finished Jordan International Rally in 3rd place navigating for Hamza Bakashab. Despite limited seat time Hamza is continuing to show his pace and the crew are now 2nd in the Middle East Rally Championship!

Moving closer to home the Carlow Stages Rally takes place tomorrow and we have a number of members making the trip to Carlow

John Warren and Ruthann O’Connor are back in the McHale rally2 Fiesta, this is the pairs first outing since taking organiser roles in running our recent Mayo Stages Rally.

Brian Lavelle and Jack Kelly are back out and hoping for the same result as they had in Westport, the crew will also have their eyes on the popular Mk2 challenge ran by Carlow Car Club.

David Healy and Martin Byrne will be a crew to watch, recently they have suffered with mechanical gremlins but all is now sorted and the pair are ready for the morning.

Ballinlough man David Doherty has made the switch from an Evo 6 to a fresher Evo 9,
David has not managed to get his Switch 2 Solar branding on the car so no photos, but the word from scrutiny in Carlow is that the car is sporting a ROS 4 SAM number plate.

Marcus Molloy is in the navigators seat for Tipperary man Cathal McGrath.

Mayo and District Motorsport Club hosted the first round of the Harrington Loose Surface Championship on Sunday 10th May, featuring exceptional female talent throughout the competitive field. The strong turnout of female competitors on gravel events is an encouraging sign for the future of the sport
