Day dreaming..

There is a lot less travelling being done at the moment, but that doesn't mean that we can't travel in our heads, remembering amazing places we have been, and memories made.

I visited Umbria in 2006, spent a few days there with friends, stayed on the grounds of a castle for a friend's wedding. It was wonderful, the company, the fun, the views, the smells, the food, the Lemoncello and don't even get me started on the . It has become a lifelong obsession since that trip!

We travelled to Rome and rented a car and took the 2 hour drive to Umbria and I would return in a heartbeat.

Tag a small or local business that you would like to support. **Support Small Business Saturdays**

Support local shops, restaurants, hotels, cafés, bars, florists, trades people, or the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker. Simply tag them to show you appreciate their efforts.

Many of us with small, local and home businesses, and those of us who are self-employed, we are all feeling the strain of 2020, and it looks like the working climate will continue to be tough for the forseeable future.

Like many of you, we run a small business, and numbers are down in 2020. We can not change the world and we can not make the greater economic climate better, but it does not mean that we give up. We will not work less this year. The very opposite in fact, it means that we batton down the hatches; we plan, we work and we do everything we can to set ourselves up for a great 2021.

Some days are hard, it is tough to movitate your self, to see how it will get better. I am a naturally positive person but even still, it does get to me at times. I just have to pick myself back up and make a plan. To fail to plan is to plan to fail and all that!

So how can you help, how can we help? We are going to do a series of Support Small Business Saturdays where you can tag any business that you would like a plug.

I downloaded the travelwise app from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at the weekend. This is a really useful app for anyone travelling or thinking about travelling.

It provides up to date, detailed information about each country, including covid related information. Each country is ranked by a colour code (red: do not travel, orange: no non-essential travel, green: normal precautions) and clear information is given on travel and quarantine requirements.

You can also create alerts for a specific country, which is great if you are thinking of travelling or have something booked and want to stay informed.

The app also has good general articles on travel under the "topical" section.

Very useful. Very user-friendly. Well done
