Tips to avoid winter sun glare whilst driving:
• Keep the inside and outside of your windscreen clean.
• Keep your windscreen washer fluid topped up.
• Check your wipers are in working order.
• Don’t use high-gloss products on the dashboard, as this can worsen the glare.
• Use your sun visor.
• Sunglasses can help prevent glare.
• Leave extra space between your car and others in the event of having to make a sudden stop.
• Drive slowly and be mindful of obstructions, pedestrians and cyclists.
• Be extra vigilant coming out of junctions and around bends.
• Give yourself extra time for your journey.
• Where possible, change your journey time in order to avoid the sunrise or sunset.
