🔧 A couple of tricky glow plug jobs completed at Nugent Autos! 🔧

We had 2 Volkswagen cars come in during the week with stuck/damaged glow plugs — both requiring specialist removal.

🚗 Volkswagen #1
Cylinder 3 pressure-sensor glow plug was completely stuck, with the head rounded off. We managed to remove it and found the threads in the cylinder head had previously been damaged.

✅ Re-threaded the glow plug hole
✅ Fitted a new glow plug
✅ Tested and back on the road!

🚗 Volkswagen #2
This one had the head of the glow plug snapped off. The glow plug had to be carefully drilled out, with the remaining section pulled from the cylinder head.

✅ Remaining glow plug removed
✅ Hole re-threaded
✅ New glow plug fitted
✅ Back on the road!

🚗 Volkswagen Passat sorted and back on the road! 🔧

This Passat came in with the clutch pedal stuck flat to the floor. On inspection, the clutch had suffered a major failure — the clutch plate was completely burnt on one side, and the clutch slave cylinder had exploded.

A new clutch and flywheel were fitted, along with replacing the failed slave cylinder, and now it’s back driving perfectly. 🙌 Another happy customer safely back on the road.
