- You want to replace a faulty module on your BMW for a used one. The Module will need to be programmed in

order to be recognised by the car main ECU. BMW Dealership will not do it for you! BMW vehicles are packed with lots of useful features such as Welcome Light, Folding Mirrors, Automatic re-lock, Convenient Locking, Open/Close Windows from the key fob, Digital Speed reading on Cluster, Video in Motion etc. but they may not be activated from the factory. 🔧 BMW X5 25d Twin Turbo – No Power at Low RPM

This BMW X5 25d came to us with a lack of power at low revs, even though both turbochargers had recently been rebuilt by another garage.

On the 25d twin-turbo system, low-RPM boost problems can often point towards an issue with the smaller turbocharger, vacuum system, or boost control.

We carried out a full inspection and found several issues:

🔍 Vacuum pipes were incorrectly connected
🔧 Vacuum switches were replaced
🔧 The smaller turbocharger was removed and sent away for inspection – turbo tested OK
🔍 Further testing pointed towards a possible boost leak around the bypass flap on the larger turbocharger.

We removed the larger turbocharger for inspection and discovered the actual problem…

❌ A small but critical component on the bypass flap was completely missing!

It turned out that after the previous garage rebuilt the turbochargers, they had forgotten to reinstall this component.

This was allowing the boost pressure to escape and was the reason for the lack of power at low RPM.

✅ Component correctly installed
✅ Vacuum system corrected
✅ Turbo system checked
✅ Boost system restored
✅ Power delivery back to normal

💡 This is a perfect example of why accurate diagnostics are so important. Replacing or rebuilding turbochargers doesn't always solve the problem. The fault can sometimes be caused by something much smaller – and finding it requires proper testing and experience.

This BMW G11 730d came to BMworkshop.ie – Independent BMW Specialists with a complaint of loss of power and the EML warning light.

🔧 After a thorough inspection and BMW diagnostics, we identified the cause — broken swirl flaps inside the intake manifold.

Once the intake manifold was removed, we found that several swirl flaps had broken off and fallen into the intake ports. ⚠️ This can potentially cause serious engine damage if the broken components make their way further into the engine.

✅ Genuine BMW intake manifold supplied and fitted
✅ Faulty swirl flaps replaced with the complete Genuine BMW manifold
✅ Full inspection and BMW diagnostics carried out
✅ Fault codes cleared and vehicle tested after repair

The BMW was then returned to the customer running correctly with full power restored. 💪

⚠️🚨 BMW B58 ENGINE OWNERS – IMPORTANT! 🚨⚠️

If you own a BMW fitted with the B58 engine, this is something worth being aware of.

We recently had a BMW G05 X5 45e with 170,000 km come to us with an oil pressure issue. After inspection and diagnostics, we confirmed that the oil pump had failed.

🔍 What caused the failure?

The oil pump contains plastic components, and these can crack or fail over time. In this case, a plastic part inside the oil pump had cracked, resulting in a loss of oil pressure.

⚠️ One warning sign to look out for:

If you try to check the engine oil level through the BMW iDrive/computer and the measurement starts but stops part way through, don't simply ignore it.

While this symptom can have other causes, it can be an indication of an oil pressure/oil level measurement issue and should be properly investigated.

❗ A failing oil pump can lead to serious engine damage if oil pressure is lost.

If you own a B58-powered BMW and notice:
