Removing the roof sign for the last time! I completed my last 2 lessons this morning so now retired, a man of leisure (unless you're talking to my wife who seems to have other plans). I completed my first lesson as Carl's School of Motoring on 26th October, 2006. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who put their trust in me over the last 17 years. I've met so many lovely people and it has been an absolute pleasure to help you all along the road. So thanks again and best wishes to everyone. "That's all Folks!"

A few from one of my favourite walks when I was home n Staffordshire last week.

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Wow, these BBE social media pages are so amazing. I wish I could be involved in something like that.” Well now you can!
We know that must apply to most of you, but no fear! There is room for everybody in the BBE media team. If you are good with technology, social media, graphic design or using your words, your services would be much appreciated by everyone associated with Blood Bikes East. Get the creative juices flowing and the volunteering going! Contact any of our social media pages for more information.

Psst…by the way, coming from somebody who IS on the team, I would highly recommend joining.

Believe it or not! Charlie Chaplin Lost a Charlie Chaplin Lookalike Competition!

Did you know that there are more LEGO mini-figures in existence than actual people on earth? Or that spider webs were used as bandages in ancient times? Believe it or not, one-quarter of all your bones are located in your feet and the average person will spend six months of their life waiting for red lights to turn green? Would you believe that a Leprechaun lives in the organ of the National Concert Hall, Dublin? Or that every cent donated to Blood Bikes East goes towards providing the service that we promise and that nobody receives a cent by way of payment?

Which of the above statements would you consider might be false? - certainly not the last one. None of our volunteers, that's right, not one, receives a penny for the work that they do for Blood Bikes East. Because they don't do it for Blood Bikes East, they do it for our sick children, our premature babies, our patients, hospitals and staff and the wider circles of each of those groups.

That's why your donations mean so much to us. That's why our sponsors are never forgotten and mentioned by us all the time.

So yes, like the rest of drivers, we will spend six months of our lives waiting at red lights. We will wait anxiously to see if Lego make Blood Bike figures in the future and we will walk into all hospitals on a quarter of the bones in our body. We hope that we never have to use spider webs as bandages (wouldn't you!) and we will always spend every cent that we are given as promised and that not one of our volunteers will be paid anything at all. And if you take the moustache off of Charlie Chaplin, he could be anyone, so, believable.

And that only leaves the leprechaun - believe it or not? Maybe you'll just have to go look for yourself! There's lots happening and it's worth a visit. I'm saying nothing more on this except to thank our sponsors:
