What a fantastic day for RTA Virtual Motorsport, Jonny Hollywood and all the team around Travis Mawhinney, Conor Melia and Kevin Joyce!!

Well.... that happened!

Travis Mawhinney took to the track today as our second Formula Vee Ireland scholarship winner and the rest is history.

Qualifying in typical Irish summer conditions (rain) went stunning with Travis putting the car on pole, sadly coming in under weight after the session he was to start from the very back of the grid.

What happened next will go down in the RTA history books, Travis drove an absolutely mind blowing race to come from 21st on the grid to 3rd overall and finish on the podium. We're all still in a little bit of shock but let there be no doubt now that sim racing pace most definitely translates into real world racing!

Special shoutout to RTA regular Conor Melia Racing who took his second win in the Formula Vee Ireland series today as well and to another RTA regular, Kevin Joyce who decided to try his hand at real racing for the first time and had an absolutely cracking drive.

Only one scholarship driver remains now, Jack Wynne will drive the Adam McCaulley and Jonny Hollywood ran car on July 5th.
