If the Government put 16c a litre on diesel tomorrow, every haulier in the country would be up in arms.

There'd be convoys. Radio phone-ins. Questions in the Dáil.

But hauliers are already losing that kind of money, and nobody is protesting.

Here's where the 16c comes from. This week, licensed hauliers put their fuel card prices into Haulage Helper anonymously. On one of the big fuel cards, there's a 16c a litre gap between the lowest price and the highest. Same card, same week, 16c apart.
