1999 Kawasaki KR150R (SSR)
Kawasaki KR150R (SSR Model) Released in the Thai market in 1996, this model received several changes such as an updated rear body, new color graphics, and the rim section uses a 3-spoke cast wheel (the previous model used spoke rims and 5-spoke cast wheels). The engine is still the same as its predecessor, which is powered by a 148cc 2-stroke liquid-cooled engine, with a KIPS power valve, and a 6-speed transmission. This engine has 33 HP and 16.5 Ft-lb of torque. The KR150R SSR is the most basic model while above it there are still the KR150SE and SE PDK which have more powerful engines. In Thailand, this motorbike competes with other 150cc 2-stroke motorbikes such as the NSR150RRW, Suzuki RG150 Gamma, and Yamaha TZM150. This model was produced until 2004, when production was discontinued due to emissions regulations.
2000 Kawasaki KRR150ZX (ZX150)
Released in 1999 in Thailand, the KRR150ZX is a further development version of the previous Kawasaki KR150 Series model. This model comes with a new frame, completely new bodywork, and a revised engine to meet the applicable emission regulations at that time. The Zx150 engine has been equipped with HSAS (High-performance Secondary Air System) as an emission system to reduce exhaust gas pollution to be more environmentally friendly. HSAS works by inserting clean air into the exhaust chamber to convert exhaust gas into non-toxic CO2 and H2O. In addition, the exhaust has also been equipped with a new converter catalyst to be environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, due to these adjustments, engine power was reduced to 30 hp. The ZX150 was less successful in the Thai market. However, in other markets, such as Indonesia and Malaysia, the motorcycle was quite popular and continued in production (updated to the RR150 for the Malaysian market and Ninja 150RR for the Indonesian market) until 2015.
