THE NEW VDL BUS GROUP LAUNCHES VDL FUTURA 3 AT BUSWORLD

With the launch of Futura 3 and the integration of VDL Bus & Coach and VDL Van Hool, VDL Bus Group explicitly takes the next step and shows the future of mobility at Busworld 2025.

VDL Bus Group will have a prominent presence at Busworld 2025, the largest trade fair for the bus and coach industry in Europe, held this year from 4 to 9 October in Brussels. VDL Bus Group has passed two major milestones.
Under the MOVE.TOGETHER. theme, it proudly presents the new VDL Futura 3 and it officially launches the new bus company VDL Bus Group, combining VDL Bus & Coach and VDL Van Hool.

The 20,000 km endurance test is a practical validation test to assess the performance and reliability of GSR safety systems.

During this test, systems such as the Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) are monitored under realistic driving conditions.

From the scenic hotspot of Cochem in Germany, to the high-speed tracks of the Nürburgring, a variety of road types and driving conditions help ensure optimal safety!

Fuel efficiency is a key pillar of the FUTURA philosophy. To ensure optimal performance, we carry out extensive fuel consumption tests on carefully selected routes that include a mix of road types, elevations and driving conditions.
These routes simulate realistic scenarios and help us optimise every detail.

And our testing continues, because performance never stands still!

The FUTURA 3 powertrain integration test fine-tunes the interaction between the engine and transmission to ensure optimal drivability and fuel efficiency.

Key focus areas include gear shifting behaviour, fuel consumption ratios, acceleration and transition comfort, retarder braking performance, and the integration of safety systems within the transmission.

The result is an optimised software setup that maximises overall vehicle performance!
