Charlotte. A legend in the Mini Club Hungary. It has been sitting motionless in a warehouse since 2001. I have been hearing stories about it since the early 2000s: it was one of the worst-maintained Minis in Hungary even then. However, in the 90s, the situation was generally much worse than today.
Charlotte's owner is the most persistent and dedicated of all of us. He has been going to Mini meetings without a Mini for 25 years and keeps saying that he will come to the meeting with Charlotte.
He has been persistently asking me to revive the car for about 5 years. I admit, I thought that the car was almost unsalvageable with this history and after 25 years of standing, but when I saw it in person that it was a time capsule with its widening and genuine 80s optics, I still said yes.
I didn't think then that every gasket, every bushes, every mechanical and hydraulic component, every switch and every part was so bad. But now, in addition to the show and shine renovations, it is a great pride for us to have been able to participate in the "low budget" revival of this icon. Thank you and congratulations on your determination, Gabi! Long live the Mini of the old days!
Charlotte. Legenda a magyar Mini klubban. 2001 óta állt egy raktárban mozdulatlanul. Jómagam a 2000-es évek eleje óta hallom a történeteket róla: az egyik legrosszabb műszaki állapotban lévő Mini volt Magyarországon már akkor is. Pedig a 90-es években általában sokkal rosszabb volt a helyzet, mint manapság.
Charlotte gazdája pedig a legkitartóbb és legelhivatottabb mindannyiunk közül. 25 éve jár Mini találkozókra Mini nélkül és egyre csak mondja, hogy jön ő még a Charlotte-tal találkozóra.
Kb. 5 éve környékez engem kitartóan, hogy élesszem fel az autót. Bevallom, én arra gondoltam, hogy a kocsi ezzel az előélettel és 25 év állás után szinte menthetetlen, de mikor megláttam élőben, hogy ez egy időkapszula a szélesítésével és a hamisítatlan 80-as évek optikájával, mégis igent mondtam.
Nem gondoltam akkor, hogy minden tömítése, minden szilentje, minden mechanikus és hidraulikus alkatrésze, minden kapcsolója és minden része ennyire rossz. De most mégis nagy büszkeség nekünk a tip-top felújítások mellett, hogy részt vehettünk ennek az ikonnak a “low budget” újraélesztésében”. Köszönjük és gratulálunk az elszántságodhoz Sinkó Gabi!
