The 2004 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R represent more than two decades of superbike evolution — from the raw, lightweight aggression of Kawasaki's first-generation liter-class weapon to the sophisticated, race-developed performance of its modern successor.

The 2004 ZX-10R features a 998cc inline-four producing approximately 175 HP and 115 Nm of torque, delivering explosive acceleration and an incredibly direct riding experience. The 2026 ZX-10R retains the legendary 998cc inline-four configuration but increases output to around 196 PS (193 HP) and 110 Nm, combining high-revving performance with advanced electronics and modern aerodynamic engineering.

The original ZX-10R weighs approximately 170 kg dry, making it one of the most aggressive and lightweight superbikes of its generation. The 2026 model carries a curb weight of around 209 kg, reflecting the addition of modern safety systems, emissions equipment and sophisticated chassis technology. Both machines approach 299 km/h and accelerate from 0–100 km/h in approximately 3.0 seconds.
