Scania (Hong Kong) Ltd. transitions the business of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles distribution to Kam Lung Motors Ltd.
Effective June 1, 2024, Scania Hong Kong has transferred the distribution of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand within the Hong Kong market to Kam Lung Motors Ltd. Henceforth, Scania (Hong Kong) Ltd. will redirect its focus and resources toward the heavy-duty truck and bus business segment.
Since 2020, Scania (Hong Kong) has served as the importer and distributor of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Hong Kong, responsible for all aspects of sales and service for that brand. Over the past four years, Scania (Hong Kong) has dedicated itself to providing the utmost level of service and customer experience.
However, Scania (Hong Kong) has now decided to refocus its efforts and resources solely on the Scania heavy-duty truck and bus business going forward. Effective immediately, the distribution of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Hong Kong will be transitioned to Kam Lung Motors Ltd. This strategic decision will allow Scania (Hong Kong) to devote its full attention and capabilities to strengthening its position and offerings in the Scania commercial vehicle segment and advancing sustainability and electrification initiatives, which remains a core focus for the company in the Hong Kong market.
Scania (Hong Kong) has confirmed that all existing service warranties and maintenance agreements for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Hong Kong customers will continue to be honoured and will be fully transferred to new partner as part of the transition.
Furthermore, Scania (Hong Kong) has committed to providing full support and assistance to customers throughout the transition period. This will ensure a seamless handover of distribution and service responsibilities to the new partner.
Scania (Hong Kong) recognizes the importance of maintaining uninterrupted service and support for its Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles customers during this change. The company is dedicated to working closely with Kam Lung Motors Ltd. to facilitate a smooth transition that prioritizes the ongoing satisfaction and needs of all affected customers.
