Sika Marine Serious: Sikaflex®-298
Sikaflex 298 is a slightly thixotropic 1-c polyurethane adhesive and sealant which cures on exposure to atmospheric humidity to form a durable elastomer.

Sikaflex 298 meets the regulations set out by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

USE: Sikaflex 298 is suitable for bonding deck covering materials made from synthetic resins (except polyethylene and polypropylene), and for bedding-in and sealing of teak plank decking laid on top of the subdeck surface. Suitable substrates include GRP, marine plywood, steel, aluminum sealed with an anti-corrosion coating (epoxy or polyurethane)

Sika Marine Series: SIKAFLEX® 295 UV HIGH-PERFORMANCE BONDING AND GLAZING SEALANT

Sikaflex 295 UV is a 1-c polyurethane adhesive of paste-like consistency that cures on exposure to atmospheric moisture to form a durable elastomer. Sikaflex 295 UV meets the requirements set out by the International Maritime Organisation(IMO).

Sikaflex 295 UV has been specially developed for the marine industry, where it is used to bond and seal plastic glazing materials in boats and ships. Because of its excellent UV-resistance this product can also be used to seal joints in areas of severe exposure. Seek advice from our Technical Service before using Sikaflex 295 UV on thermoformed plastics.

Suitable substrates include:
Aluminum (bright or anodized), GRP (polyester resin), Stainless steel, Timber, 2-C coatings, Plastic glazing materials (PC,PMMA)

Sikaflex®-221 multi-purpose polyurethane sealant

Sikaflex 221 is a high-quality, multi-purpose, non-sag 1-component, polyurethane sealant that cures on exposure to atmospheric humidity and forms a durable elastomer.

Sikaflex 221 bonds well to a wide variety of substrates and is suitable for making permanent elastic seals of high adhesive strength. Suitable substrate materials are: timber, metals, metal primers, paint coatings (2-C systems), ceramic materials and plastics. Seek manufacturer’s advice before using on transparent and pigmented materials that are prone to stress-cracking.
