🌼 Flower Wreaths (Stefania)
Families and friends go to the countryside to pick wildflowers and create a flower wreath. This wreath is hung on the front door of the house as a symbol of renewal, nature, and good luck.
🌿 Day in Nature
It’s common to spend the day outdoors — picnics, walks, or short trips. It celebrates the full arrival of spring and blooming life.
🔥 Burning the Wreath (Later Tradition)
In some areas, the May wreath is kept until St. John’s Day (June 24), when it’s burned in a small fire — symbolizing cleansing and the cycle of seasons.

At the same time, May 1st is also International Workers’ Day, so you’ll often see strikes or demonstrations, especially in big cities.
