Το Drifting είναι μία τεχνική οδήγησης, όπου ο οδηγός υπερστρέφει σκόπιμα, προκαλώντας απώλεια πρόσφυσης στους πίσω τροχούς ή όλα τα ελαστικά, διατηρώντας παράλληλα τον έλεγχο για το σύνολο της μιας γωνίας. Ένα αυτοκίνητο παρασύρεται όταν η πίσω γωνία ολίσθησης είναι μεγαλύτερη από την μπροστινή γωνία ολίσθησης, σε τέτοιο βαθμό που συχνά οι μπροστινοί τροχοί δείχνουν ι προς την αντίθετη κατεύθυνση

με την σειρά τους (π.χ. αυτοκίνητο στρίβοντας αριστερά, τροχοί πάνε δεξιά ή αντίστροφα, επίσης γνωστή ως αντίθετη κλειδαριά ή αντι-διεύθυνση).
Σε ένδειξη πειθαρχίας στους κανόνες της αυτοκίνησης, οι επαγγελματτικοί αγώνες πραγματοποιούνται σε όλο τον κόσμο και κρίνονται ανάλογα με την ταχύτητα, τη γωνία, το show και τις γραμμές που δημιουργούνται μέσα από μια γωνία ή ένα σύνολο από γωνίες.
